Equal Not Divided is a nationwide campaign to celebrate and reward secondary schools that best reflect their mixed communities – and which give our young people the best possible education. Join us – register your school today.
Research led by The Challenge, the UK’s leading charity for building a more integrated society, has found that four in ten of our secondary schools are segregated by ethnicity and more than a quarter by class.
This means pupils aren’t always getting the chance to learn with others from different parts of society. When young people from different backgrounds grow up and learn together it builds trust and breaks down prejudice.
“Schools – and teachers – are our best chance of creating a more trusting, integrated society.”
Jon Yates, Director, The Challenge
